Music and Art

Mrs. Nadine Konfirst heads St. Jude’s Fine Arts Department. Mrs. Konfirst graduated from Nebraska Wesleyan University and has taught and coordinated our Music/Theatrical programs at St. Jude’s since 1994.

St. Jude students participate in Music Class two times per week and Art class once per week.

In Music class, students are introduced to a variety of musical instruments to explore such as xylophones and recorders.

Band/music lessons are offered!! The Fine Arts Department of Providence Catholic High School provides this program to our school.

Students in grades 4-8 are invited and encouraged to participate in our band and chorus. The student chorus sings weekly at the student Mass.

Practices are held in the morning prior to school approximately twice a week beginning in September.

Informational flyers regarding band are sent home in September at which time a Band parent meeting is also held.

Come and see your budding musician/singer perform in our annual Christmas Program! Students in grades K-5 as well as musical performances provided by our band and chorus sing Holiday carols.

Art classes provide a great release for your child’s creative abilities. Many projects are sent home with the students while others are proudly displayed throughout our school halls.
