About Us

OUR MISSION: St. Jude is a faith community searching for the presence of our Lord, Jesus Christ, in us and in others. We are dedicated to creating an environment of welcoming and fellowship through worship, outreach, evangelization and service. We strive to provide quality education and instill the virtues of Catholic devotion through word and example. Each morning begins with prayer, and Religion is taught daily. Students attend weekly Mass during school hours.

SCHOOL HISTORY: St. Jude School opened in September 1950. It has been our tradition to provide an educational environment in which students are taught the Christian message and are given the opportunity to live what they learn, especially the Gospel values of love, respect and service to others.

EXTENDED DAY PROGRAM: Available for students K-8 in the morning from 7:00-8:05 AM and afternoon from 3:20-5:30 PM.

HOT LUNCH PROGRAM: Hot lunch available for pre-order purchase on all full school days.

SCHOOL TIMES:
     9:05 – 3:15   Grades K-8

     FULL DAY KINDERGARTEN

PRINCIPAL: St. Jude school welcomed Principal Luanne Watson in August of 2007.

SCHOOL PRIDE: We take great pride that:
*Each year, 1-4 of our students compete at the State level in the science/academic fair;
*Up to ½ of each eighth grade class continues on to Providence Catholic high school
*Our graduates are well represented on the honor roll and in the honor societies of both local high schools.

OUR FACILITIES: St. Jude’s school doors officially opened in September of 1950. Our new church has a capacity to welcome 1500 worshippers. On average, we welcome and register 30 new families per month to our parish.

OUR CURRICULUM: Students are challenged according to their ability so they may achieve their full potential. Through close cooperation with New Lenox Public Schools, St. Jude’s is able to provide special services for individual students in need. We encourage students to take pride in their education and to strive for academic excellence, to help prepare them for their future goals. Fundamental Spanish classes are offered in grades K-8 to better prepare our students for High School foreign language courses while, at the same time, enriching communication and acceptance of diverse languages within our community.

OUR ENROLLMENT: We continue to enjoy the familiarity and camaraderie of providing one class per grade. Kindergarten capacity is 25 students for the FULL DAY session. Grades 1-8 capacity remains at 33 students. Feel free to call our office at (815) 485-2549 for information or to schedule a tour of our school. You will be glad you did!
