The science curriculum emphasizes the understanding of basic concepts from the three major branches of science, earth, life and physical.
Students learn concepts and students become involved in the inquiry process of science by participating in hands-on activities that connect science to facts that they have learned.
Students are encouraged at each grade level from kindergarten through eighth grade to understand how science impacts their daily lives. In addition to hands-on activities from the grade level textbooks students in grades six through eight investigate through modules from the SEPUP (Science Education for Public Understanding Program).
Seventh grade students learn about particle physics through a hands-on unit developed at Fermilab called Beauty and Charm. The emphasis on the inquiry process of science culminates in eighth grade with the students' individual science fair projects.
