St. Jude Catholic Church

St. Jude is the only Roman Catholic Parish in New Lenox. We presently have over 4400 households registered in the parish. Our church is located on Second Avenue two blocks west of Cedar Road. The Parish was established in 1934; our old church was built in 1959; and our new church was dedicated on April 3, 2003.

We are staffed by Augustinian priests and are part of the Catholic Diocese of Joliet. We have a Parish School, kindergarten through eighth grade, and a full Religious Education and enrichment program, preschool through adult.

Sacramental Life

Anytime upon request.
Saturday 3:30 - 4:30 P.M.

Baptisms
Baptisms are celebrated on the 1st, 2nd, 3rd & 4th Sundays
of most months for registered members of our Parish
Community. Parents wishing to have a child baptized are
expected to attend one Baptism Preparation Session (either
1st Monday or 4th Thursday at 7:00 pm) if they have never
had a child baptized or if this will be their first baptism at St.
Jude’s. Please contact the Parish Office to register for one
of these sessions.

Marriage
Catholic parties should be members of St. Jude Parish Community. They should contact the priest at least six months before the wedding to allow time for evaluation, preparation and to determine the date of the wedding.

Care of Sick and Aged
Any parishioner unable to attend Mass is asked to please contact the Parish Office—(815) 485-8049—for the Sacraments of the Eucharist and the Anointing of the Sick. Anointing of the Sick is available after any weekend Mass.
