Would you like to be part of a special group that translates God's love into tangible human services for the homeless? St. Jude parishioners have been cooking and serving meals at Daybreak Shelter (operated by Catholic Charities) in Joliet for many years.
We need parishioners to volunteer on the second Friday of each month, September through May, for the following:
· Cooks -- food will be provided by Caritas; we ask that you pick it up, cook it, and bring it back to Franciscan Hall by 5:00 p.m. on that second Friday. Can you help? We are currently in need of more cooks!
· Bakers -- we request that you bake cookies, muffins or brownies, and that you bring them to Franciscan Hall by 5:00 p.m. on that second Friday.
· On premises services, at the shelter, for one of two shifts:
o 5:30 p.m. through 8:00 p.m. is the dinner shift
o 5:00 a.m. through 7:30 a.m. is the breakfast shift on the second Saturday morning of the month.
